Why use it

What you get.

Works with every UPI app — GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM and the bank apps

Optionally lock in the amount, so the payer cannot mistype it

Add a note that shows in the payer's app and on your statement

No merchant registration, no gateway fee, and nothing deducted by us

Built in your browser — your UPI ID is not sent to or stored by AroraLabs

Step by step

How it works

No manual required — but here's the whole flow, start to finish.

  1. Enter your UPI ID (the name@bank address, e.g. alex@okhdfcbank) exactly

  2. Add your display name so the payer sees who they are paying before confirming

  3. Set an amount for a fixed price, or leave it blank to let the payer enter one

  4. Download and test with a ₹1 payment to yourself from another app before printing it

Under the hood

What the code actually contains

upi://pay?pa=alex@okhdfcbank&pn=Alex%20Smith&am=250&cu=INR&tn=Invoice%2019

A standard UPI deep link. pa is your UPI ID, pn the display name, am the amount, cu the currency and tn the note. Any UPI app on the phone opens it ready to pay.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Do you take a cut?

No. This tool draws an image. The payment goes directly from the payer's bank to yours over UPI, exactly as if they had typed your UPI ID in by hand. AroraLabs is not in the transaction and cannot see it.

Is this an official merchant QR?

No — it is a personal UPI code built from your own UPI ID. Merchant QRs with settlement reporting and dispute handling come from your bank or a payment provider. For a stall, a freelancer or a small shop, this is usually what people actually want.

The amount field — should I fill it in?

Fill it in for a fixed price, like an invoice or a fixed-price item. Leave it blank for a counter where every sale differs, otherwise the customer has to edit it and may not notice.

Can I use this outside India?

UPI is India's payment network, so a UPI code is only payable by apps connected to it. Elsewhere, use the URL type to point at whatever payment link your provider gives you.
