How well does this work across phones?
It is the least consistent of the QR types. Android generally offers to add the event; iPhone behaviour varies by iOS version and scanning app, and sometimes shows the text rather than a calendar prompt. Test on real devices before a big print run — and consider a URL code to a proper .ics file if you need it to be certain.
What timezone are the times in?
The times are written as you enter them, without a timezone attached, so they are read as local time on the scanning phone. For a physical event that is usually what you want. For anything online with attendees in other countries, say the timezone in the title.
Can I add a reminder or make it repeat?
No. The code carries one event with a start, an end and a place. Reminders and repeats are settings the person adds in their own calendar afterwards.
Is it really free, and do the codes expire?
Free with no limits, no signup and no watermark. The code is a plain image once you download it — it is not a redirect through our servers, so it keeps working forever whether or not AroraLabs does.
